About the tri-chick behind tri-chix.com!

I live in Cumberland, Maine, close to Portland. I have a cycling past, getting involved in bikes when I was in my twenties. I ran cross country in high school, and swam across lakes as a kid, but getting serious and putting it all together is a new phenomenon. I learned how to swim in the technical sense (and am still working on that!) at the age of 38, I started running around the same time, and by 40 had completed an Ironman. Go Figure!

In my twenties I worked in a bike shop, between undergrad and grad school, and then decided I better get serious and get a career. I have a visual arts background and a masters in literacy education, but life takes funny turns… I have been selling real estate for 9 years now.

After working most days and evenings and finally finding my second husband, my quality of life has become extremely important and I am striving to make some personal changes.  So, here goes! I making a commitment to triathlon, triathlon training for women and being an advocate for women who want to be athletes, in whatever form that may be. I am committed to finding a creative solution to life and helping other women do the same!

I am currently making my way as a multi-sport coach, facilitating group clinics and training. I am a member of a local triathlon club, Team N’or Easter, out of the store Peak Performance Multisport, located 317 at Marginal Way, Portland, ME. And, I am getting my USAT level 1 coaching certificate in February.

I’m on the never-ending path of finding personal fulfillment, come and join me!
